""""Looking Ahead: Week of January 19 through 23
This week’s big event is not directly economic but political – Tuesday’s inauguration of Barack Obama as president of the U.S. Count on markets coming to a near standstill during official ceremonies. Yes, banks and markets are open on inauguration day in the U.S. Otherwise, it is a very quiet week. The only market moving indicator is housing starts out on Thursday morning.""""
Obama really has this week for himself and should take the majority of the media headlines through the above period.
although you do have some big companys with 4th quarter results but again the media will be focused on Obama.
i think we sill see a major turn around in terms of people going from being pessimistic to optimistic, the quicker this can happen then the quicker things will turn around ie: markets picking up like housing etc etc.
