could the dow hit 9,000 plus this week..??, page-49

To hear some of the (wishful) predictions on this thread that the DOW will hit 9000, 10,000 and even 11,000 this year is simply laughable. With some insanely irrational exuberance we MAY see 9000 again for a very brief time. However, I am fairly confident that we will not only break 8,000 very soon, but will crash through the November 2007 intraday low of 7400 not long after, hesitate at the 2002 intraday low of 7000, crash thorugh that and trade below 5,000 this year. I think the bottom will be around 3,000 in 2010, followed by a 3-4 year sideways trading range and then a 10-15 year climb back up to before reaching a new all time high.

I base all this on the FACT that this is a financial crisis of EPIC proportions, a study of the Great Depression and charts of the DOW during the 1929-1932 crash and LONG and SLOW grind back up to finally make a new high in 1954.
