I think the term aussie is a misguided attempt to disclude migrant races or people from ethnic background who hang on to even a remote piece of their heritage OR choose Australian customs over their own if they are migrants.
Its like Leb, or WOG etc. Its difficult to define. Its usually a steriotypical assessment of a group of people based on geled hair, bad speach, agressive speach and walking around with a puffed up chest etc
i.e An aussie is one who gets on the piss, loves some snags, takes life easy, drives a ute and adds "sy" to their mates names. Like Millsy, Boonsy etc.
I think every one has varying ideas as to what an Aussie or a wog or leb or maso etc is.
