Willbass, the problem is that the so called 'oppressed' come here and try to impose their so called 'oppresive ways into the australian culture and on the people. I dont like some aspects of decency etc. however, australia already has certian laws to cover those situations. But the problem is these 'oppressed' people if they dont get their ways decide that the law of the country doesnt apply to them as they arent getting what they want, so they decide to change it to reflect their laws. and if that doesnt work, their frustration boils over into extremism and the following of extremists in their belief that the only way to change things because the west is such a bad place to destroy it.
You as a muslim male would hopeful be against the likes of asama bin laden and other persons who inflict pain and suffering due to the wests so called indecent practices.
But the problem is that many beieve Osama to be a freedom fighter against the infidels even though the majoirty of muslims live in muslim run countries, the only percieved as being oppresed are those living in the west and of course those in gaza.
But why is it so important to you that the burqua as allowed given that it is a medivieal practice aimed at soley controlling women and oppresing them.
How should a muslim women get a drivers licence and able to drive properly with a burqua. If they want this luxury, they should follow the rules for the great good, and not make up new rules to suit a small group of people. If what you want is allowed, we would have floodgate of minority groups wanting similar laws. and this is a free western society is not approriate. The greater good rules, not the good to make one group greater
