Lack of patience some time ago MADX. Akida was a fair way away and they were talking about fluffing around with ASICs and so on instead of just getting to the specific hardware build and I walked. It had nothing to do with BRN's prospects once the design went to layout. Just never got back to it before this run. I am trying to be a bit more patient here.
On the SNN question. Its a question of focus. BRN has built hardware to specifically do that. WBT will be using characteristics of Reram that approximates something like the same structures. I see SNN as an event stream processing thing, not a memory thing (Neuron vs Synapse I guess). Something architected for that particular use case is likely to be better. And, its early days regardless for AI here on reram despite Leti demonstrations and I dont think it should be a distraction.
WBT needs to focus on the real prizes it can tangibly monetise now. For me, fast time to market for a SPI NOR Flash replacement is a priority. That is a vulnerable market now ripe for disruption. Its also where adjunct non volatile memory on edge AI and non-AI powered devices will play. I think there is much more immediate money in that that playing the quasi SNN processor right now.
