Pecora, assuming the research is based on electoral distributions and has credibility, the result does not surprise me as Rudd has only been PM for a year and will be judged by achievements by the end of his term. If he does poorly he may decline in a future similar poll. If he does well he may likely outscore Howard after only one term. This view I think is borne out by the fact that Labor and Kevin Rudd are currently polling extraordinarily well and if a poll was taken comparing John Howard in his last year to Kevin Rudd in his first year, Rudd would likely win hands down,maybe.
