GE as far as I understand from Obrovac/ Novonix research is there are two reasons why I mentioned unique, firstly it’s that other methods of particle synthesis have limitations as they rely on solvents, or solubility ( ie in water) ph levels in the ‘precipitation’ methods( when particles drop out of solutions). The second one that Obrovac team mentioned was some particles like the ‘onion’ layered shape are simply unique as they have not been made before by any method full stop.The DPMG simply creates the desirable aggregation. The onion shape they’ve admitted is superior to any graphite particle that they’ve developed so far. It’s superior because they state the layered form allows no exposed edges to react to the electrolyte ( unwanted). Chris Burn mentions graphene onion layers which I believe can be seem in the photo I posted before. ‘If ‘they could be layered between layers of the silicon/titanium/nitride alloy then they are not only non reactive ( good) but being incredibly strong control the silicon expansion in the anode. And so possibly could mega dope up the anode with more silicon? However there’s no information so far I can find.
