i've had the same dilemma.

I started buying into vpe last july for an average of about 18.5c and have sold all but 50k in the last few days (I was too slow to react to the spike to 27c) I also sold most of my vpeo today (bought for 7c average).

I sold out not because of VPEs prospects but because I think the Oil (and gas) price will stay low for a year or more and I have read some recent negative press on the prospects of BG (which was my main hope for take over action). I also think the overall markets will have some severe headwinds over the next year or so that will not help.

I may look to buy them back if the share price drops or the markets change for the better
