When all main political parties support ‘GDP growth’ through pumping a building and housing boom (bubble) via the lazy mode of just importing more people, it’s hard to see where the major differences are.
The majority of people on the Left are just happy to be Chardonnay capitalists, reaping the benefits of living under this system while mouthing all the right things about the environment and seeking slightly bigger crumbs for the poor. It’s a conscience soothing exercise that they believe differentiates them from those they label ‘the greedy’.
Australia has mineral resources going for it.....and what else. Since vast urban populations ceased working in productive manufacturing, all they can really do is buy and sell houses from / to each other. Most of these urban moaners lean to the Left, they drive gas guzzlers through huge jams of urban traffic, create vast quantities of rubbish and sewage, and produce little to nothing of any value. Can you imagine the amount of rubbish and effluent a city the size of Sydney produces every year. The rural populace creates the foodstuffs to keep these urban gobblers alive, basically via a logistical life support system.
