1. The BEE ownership stake is a separate issue to provisions of the Mining Charter 2018 which stipulate that companies may have to provide 10% of its equity free of charge to local communities.
2. The recent ruling on BEE 'once empowered, always empowered' only applies to mining rights granted before the introduction of Mining Charter 2018.
