You can only buy entitlement shares if you are entitled to them. In other words you have to have been an existing shareholder and therefore have received a definite entitlement based on the number of shares you had when that was calculated. So with the entitlement shares you can chose to buy all of them that you have been granted, or some of them, or none at all. To buy shares through the SPP system I think you will find that there are set amounts that you have to select (e.g. $2500, or $5000 or $7500 etc all the way up to the maximum of $30,000.
So there is a big and critical difference
