Not sure I really want to buy into this argument about the company I hold, BUT, I keep reading people stating incorrect facts re parking charges. From Westfield Chatswoods website - "1. There is no boom gate at entry, so you can drive straight into the car park. If your visit is under 2 hours, parking is free." Every centre I have searched has been the same (restrictions for covid excepted), 2 hours free. If you download the app - "Westfield Plus Members: 1. There is no boom gate at entry, so you can drive straight into the car park. If your visit is under 4 hours and you’ve added your number plate into the Westfield Plus app parking is free."

Centres that have major public transport links, eg Parramatta , or major work place links need parking restrictions, no argument. This until recently was 3 hours, a reasonable time frame, as stated by other posters, it is now 2 hours. If I was a tenant of Westfield at this time, I would have an issue with the landlord pressuring all ready stressed consumers to leave within 2 hours to save extra costs. I know not all centres have the charges (my local doesn't), but there are centres that do, that in my opinion, seem wrong. In my city, a centre on a highway, in a light industrial, residential, no where near public transport, surrounded by big box retailers, with their own car parks, has 2 hours free, then charged parking.

I have not searched every centres fee, I do not believe it is the reason for the halving in share price, but it is something that users of the centres have raised in their reaction to the app. A negative at this time.
