@pintohoo; public school teachers have learned the hard way that poorly designed and cheaply built public school buildings are death traps when confronted by respiratory viruses or disasters such as explosions / terrorist incidents / fires.
Due to decades of gross underfunding and $Cost-$Saving public schools are very poorly ventilated while most have NO external doors so that hundreds and even thousands of people negotiate crowded corridors and all air is shared by everyone.
As if that isn't bad enough, governments SACKED permanent cleaners and permitted poor quality 'contract cleaning' to ... $Reduce $Costs! They've even slashed and burnt school maintenance budgets to the point where cheap 'swampy' air conditioners are poorly maintained.
A country that treats its youth and its vulnerable elderly citizens as $Costs has lost its moral compass.
