The tech has taken 17 years to reach this point. This is why PVMD says he thinks BRN has a 10 year head start.
ROTFL. The first 12 years was one man on a shoestring budget. The next five years was a handful of people from third tier universities on a very small budget. IMO that is probably equivalent to just 6-12 months research for one of the large chip companies.
Meanwhile...
The IBM TrueNorth 'brainchip' was in production in 2014.
The Intel Loihi 'brainchip' was in production in 2017.
