You are not wrong at all, the more the increase in Shares with new holders, is reducing the current value of shares for current holders.
Another way of looking at it.
If the traded SP on the ASX is 10c or $10, the actual company coffers are not affected. The company does not have any extra money for the future or day to day expenses.
The way that the Coy can take advantage of a higher traded SP is by CR. This fills the coy coffers, and it has money to survive & expand.
A lot of Coy's have folded, having minerals in the ground, simply because they have run out of money.
A decent CR bagging DEG around $100M would be great IMO. I would be assured that we can afford to explore for a couple of years.
Each drill possibly raising the SP, and the value of my shares. I may be sharing the gains with a few more people, but as long as my $$$
are increasing, without spending more from my pocket, I can live with that.
Also, If DEG has lots of $$$ in their coffers, and a bad time hits. A lot of other coys with no $$ will shut down and DEG can use their money to
acquire even more tenements.
