I think its more complicated than that,
If you read through FGR's Graphene specs (nicnas) the SSA was extremely small, 7-9 m2 per gram when tested by the BET method,
Graphene has an SSA of around 2630m2 per gram using BET method,
The reason I believe the surface area is slow low, is due to the pristine nature of the Graphene, (no defects) where the gas can be absorbed, It might also be related to the graphite being Sri Lankan Graphite, (baked at higher temp when formed)
