I had a look at BOM (Turnkey, NSW) And they had 47 dry days between when the first rig arrived on the 5th of June and a total of 52 wet days plus, dry out days. Plus the swap out of rig. August was a washout with only 10 dry days and 4 times the normal rainfall. However, I did notice another exploration company in the same district that drilled in the same weather conditions and managed to furnish shareholders with the assay report and updates on progress in an as expected and timely fashion a month ago. And in hindsight not a single month this year would have been dry enough to drill. It may be the assay being done 3075km away that is holding it up. The metallurgist was busy by the time if got there or it never arrived or it rained in WA too. No idea why but it has been 99 days since the first announcement of the first rig arriving on site and 82 days since the last update. In that time we have seen record prices for gold vanish. All ords up at record levels vanish and silver ratio up to billyo vanish. it was for a time most exciting waiting and watching and refreshing the announcement page every single ASX business day at 830am for some sort of meaningful announcements on progress. Too much fun. Refreshing almost.
