sook - I can think of many more words that would explain what the ASIC does or does not do - your words a re far too kind.

Years ago a brokers rep rang me up & asked if I wanted some shares in XXX (Terraplanet(magazines) or some such name, just before the dot com bust)& I said no, They issued me some anyway & so I went to the ASIC who said I had a case & they would look into it - about 2 months later I received a letter along the lines of due to costs & lack of manpower we would not proceed - understandable for my 3/4k all the work etc etc does not justify the proceedings. Such is life - ripped off yet again!

No rip off with Gold - it just varies in monitary value.
