You know , over the years I've bought plenty of Dividends ' CUM Dividend ' ......which is the day before a Stock goes Ex-dividend. This means you can virtually BUY the stock right up to the last day before it goes ' Ex- Divi ' to be classed as ' Cum - Dividend ' . Which put another way means that the ' Record Date ' is virtually meaningless.
And It used to be T+3 you know. Now it's T+ 2 settlement which simply means that you need to BUY the stock ' CUM - Divi ' or ' CUM Entitlement ' the day before it goes EX. Of course this mean you can actually sell it on the Day it goes Ex ......or even the Record date and still receive the Dividend or the Entitlement rights or Options. So this means the Market has ALREADY has had two days to ' orchestrate ' the BIG sell off you are speaking of.
Monday has got absolutely NOTHING to do with it , and is pure and utter scare mongering by you to those who don't understand this. Don't listen to this fellow as it appears a TOTAL stitch up to generate FEAR among the uneducated holders.......
