No one said Elon has single handedly build a multibillion dollar company. He didn't build all the cars himself, he didn't build all the gigafactories himself, he hasn't handmade all the lithium batteries. What he has done is had the vision and the know how to take on the entire ice industry and disrupt them with ev. It actually is because of him and his big mouth to make people listen and be made aware the benefits of ev that we are at this point. If the scientists had made all this stuff ages ago then why didn't they create Ev's long ago? We would all be breathing cleaner air? I think you have mistaken what Elon's role actually is and how important it is.
