I would be worried with the delay in moving forward from the stuck bit if this was a one off. As far as I am aware no-one in the world has drilled at this combination of depth, temperature and pressure, so they are in uncharted territory.
The project calls for dozens or even hundreds of wells under these conditions. It may therefore be wise, as they seem to be, to take some time to find the best way to overcome this problem now. It will no doubt happen many times into the future so a solution now, although costly in the short term, may be cheap in the long term.
I am thinking of doing a post of the basic geology of the contact zone between an igneous intrusion and the country rock. This is the situation of the current drilling. Let me know if you are interested.
FYI I have held GDY since early 2004. I have been very appreciative of the constant flow of info from the company over this time. If only more companies were so open the investment climate would be far better.
