Warnie doesn't dream he just makes money. In real estate, provided you make sure you can cover repayments in all circumstances,in the long term you get very rich. I know of quite a number of people with minimal or next to no education and worked in low wage jobs have become extremely wealthy through real estate investments. By way of example I know of a case where a migrant laborer would purchase any house that came up for sale in his street, would patch them up and rent them out. As his equity increased this gave him the capacity to buy each home and rent them out. After some 30 years he owned most of the houses in the street. All through this period he worked as a labourer on the minimum wage. As we all know there can be cycles in real estate in terms of valuations and or rental income/vacancies etc but this laborer had no problems as when he hit a difficult patch he was able to sell one of his earliest purchases at a good profit and used that money to ensure he could meet his commitments during the rough patch. This unsophisticated chap retired with unencumbered real estate worth many many millions and the rental income got to the point many years ago that he could retain a fair proportion of it to live. Many professionals would not have been as successful as this chap. I can attest that this is not an isolated case and indicates that wise investment in real estate is about as good as it gets for asset accumulation. It does need lots of discipline though.

    cheers
