Irrelevant that they have the veto.......it doesn't bother UN to launch resolutions against Israel even though they have advance notice from the Americans that they will use the veto.....
So if they (the UN) are still prepared to go through the motions when applied to the Israelis, why not go through the motions when the US does a similar thing? Let the US use its veto.......but at least it will display moral equivalence.
