tomu, yes I just checked my facts at the time both superpowers agreed to stay out of this scruff. My point was that Israel for 10 years had been aquiring arms from anywhere it could,including from both superpowers .Any talk of a "win against all odds ", or a holy war is just hogwash and no better than the other mob.I find your glorification of this event as repugnant as someone justifying suicide bombings. At the time with the cold war alliances changed and it may well have been a period before the 67 war Israel was aligned with USSR. While not aligned they had some Russian weaponry .My second apology for the day in this forum and hopeful my last.
