    I didn't mean obscure because i didn't agree but rather that I wasn't sure that i understood

your explanation was not more obscure - but in fact much more clear and i get (well i think I do) what you are saying about the word. I don't want to distract too much from this thread either so some random thoughts. the first sentence in the bible in hebrew was this
Bereshit Bara Eloeim Et Ha-Shamaim Ve-Et Ha-Aretz’ there's a whole lot of discussion around the way that is both translated and interpreted but my understanding is that it connects language and word to creation which is why one often reads in the beginning there was the word. and why i think the hebrew language and letters are given such important meanings. christ was represented by the greek word was logos which i think is a rather neat word that has so much bundled up in it.

since this is really better on the religious forum where you and I might be lectured for misunderstanding i will divert - i have always been fascinated by the hebrew spelling of part of my family - it seems to be a beacon in some way.

    one letter
The three lines of the shin may be interpreted as three general dimensions of a human being: Kesser (will and pleasure), the intellect, and the emotions.5 In addition, the entire shin can represent just one of these dimensions, with each of the three lines symbolizing a subdivision of that dimension. In the case of Kesser, Kesser is that which exists beyond the intellect—the dimension of the suprarational; the will and pleasure of the King. The gematria of Kesser is 620. When the shin is represented as Kesser, 620 rays of light are imparted to the world through the three literal lines—or channels—of the shin. These rays are bestowed on the world through the right line, which is kindness; the left line, which is justice; and the centerline, mercy. alternatively it represents one of the three principles - fire. though my birth sign is an air sign.

and the same letter's numerical value
A Divinely Appointed Period of Time. Number Connected to the “Children of Promise” Supernatural Victory Over Enemies Including Death Number connected with The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Messiah Signifies final Blood Sacrifice Made by the Perfect Lamb of God.

but I've seen other versions of it - all in some ways linked to the divine principle. the second letter is about potential and manifestation of that potential.

I'm fascinated by it because it was a name that was chosen when napoleon insisted that jews take last names. It is a most curious choice for a family name but seems to somehow represent the struggle of being. I've contemplated many times reverting to that name but use it as my business name because it reflects the guiding principles behind the work i do

There is a thing called rabbinical debate that recognises that one must explore words to explore meaning and find truth and they welcome debate as a pathway to that. not everyone gets that though because it requires some skills in searching for connections and commonality and it is often easier as a concept than it is in reality and people need to decide to be in it. It should be easier to do in writing because you have time to reflect. in conversation you have to be able to check yourself and i don't always do that - and less so when the other party isn't equally searching for what is common. I dont think thats uncommon but I'd like better control over it.

i do know the thread you are referring to but you might have also noticed then that there was a point at which i gave up. the difficult art of backing away???
