Absolutely meaningless. There are so many other variables that it is practically irrelevant.
and both are research chips costing $1k++
High end CPUs (Threadripper/i9) for a desktop PC can cost over $2000 each.
It will probably cost about $30 million to make a production Akida. So they will need huge volumes to bring the price down.
if Intels or IBMs were so advanced, why are they still expected to be in a lab for another 4+ years?
Because they are realistic. They aren't a broke microcap trying to hype a product.
IBM doesn't even have a date it expects to be commercialised
