Just listened to the battery day webinar from bmi and simon moores said tesla will be getting there lithium from Australian spodumene for atleast the next 5 years.
Not to sure about this table salt extraction method yet it will not happen over night most likely take years from a new technology to commercial scale mine.
Yes there is enough lithium in Nevada to power the entire usa fleet at the atom level as there is enough in Western Australia also..
Tesla will also manufacture there batterys at the other giga factorys so aussi spod has a roll to play in those supply chains ie. China, Berlin.
Stock market just shaking the tree here were talking 3twh by 2030 from just one company could be in the order of 5twh plus by 2030 globally.
High nickel cathode is the preferred choice so spodumene to hydroxide it is.
The scramble for supply begins....
