    Jack,

I have been arguing that the $US is rallying in spite of all the pundits who predicted it would crash.

    It didn't crash,it actually rallied.

That left many of the 'gurus' scratching their heads.

    Why did it rally?

    That is the question.

I then talked about relative strength.

The USA may be a basket case but name one country in the world that isn't?

Literally less than 6 months ago everyone was suggesting that countries like China and most of AISA (INCLUDING OZ) had 'decoupled' from the USA.

    It was nonsense.

Our market collapsed in a screaming heap.

China and the rest of ASIA collapsed as well.

It was a domino effect all over the world.

As bad as things are in the USA,they actually look worse in many other countries.

My argument is that many of these countries are ill equipped to deal with the crisis.

Thats why we have riots in Russia,China,Greece,France and some of the eastern European countries.

By comparison the US & Japan are both uniquely well equipped to deal with the problems.

It wont be easy,I am not suggesting that for a minute, but some countries will really struggle.
