The number of times I have written to ASIC is now into double digits.

After having written to the Commonwealth Ombudsman twice, I'm now lobbying my Federal MP to have a senior ASIC representative brought before the senate to account for ASIC's inaction in this and other matters. I recommend everyone else here do the same. The next senate hearing is due to take place between 26th and 30th October - so if you do plan on writing to your Federal MP please do it quickly.
