The last cap raise was at market price, not at mates rates. So the idea they are trying to miss on the first hole is a bit of a stretch.
IMO these guys have shown an aversion to cheap cap raises as they have a fair amount of skin in the game.
I imagine they chose for the first hole the one with the highest probability to hit pay dirt. With decent assay results leading to a huge jump in market cap, then they can raise funds for a much larger drilling campaign.
