As pointed out on the 7.30 Report last night, Turnbull was/is intentionally seeking to mislead the public by inferring that the $200 billion potential debt is entirely of Rudd's doing.

While Turnbull continues to resort to this sort of opportunistic 'lying', he is only going to harm his own credibility.

One would have to think that a Costello challenge is inevitable at some future opportune time, although I would be surprised if it comes before say, November, and I think it could come as late as February next year.

I guess Costello, and the Coalition in general, have to guard against Rudd calling an early election whilst they still have a leader who cannot win (although I don't think Costello is going to solve that dilemma.) This may mean that the challenge will come sooner rather than later??? Hard to say.

Personally, I think Turnbull would've made a good Liberal PM. He could have helped to advance the mindset of some of these Liberals who are bogged down in antiquated thinking, but some of them simply don't like him for that reason.

I know a few staunch Liberal monarchists (and many who shared Howard's prejudices on other issues), who simply can't stand Turnbull. They view him as being too radical......lol. Good grief.
