I saw this story this morning about huskies in Helsinki trained to detect Covid-19 by smell.

That made me think about the media release about using the Akida Development Environment to encode and classify electronic nose data. Here's the release:

If the canine's in Helsinki can detect Covid-19 by smell would it be possible for an e-nose using Akida be able to do the same? It turns out that the e-nose device is already being considered as a potential replacement for search and rescue dogs as mentioned in this article:

An ultra low powered handheld e-nose with an Akida processor would be very useful to detect the virus and could be used at home to self test. This would really slow the spread. I wonder how long it would take to put something like this into production? Hahaha, That would be a pretty large order to fill...
