Alliance has announced a new twice weekly schedule between Canberra and the Sunshine Coast which also connects through to the existing Sunshine Coast to Cairns service.

AQZ is tipping its toe into expanded RPT services, with a focus on currently unserved routes where a 100 seat jet service makes sense. To my thinking these RPT services increases the AQZ risk profile somewhat compared with contract FIFO services. However, management have shown that they are nimble and will no doubt change tack quickly where new routes launched are financially successful.
No comment yet from AQZ on the abandoned Virgin routes. Guess no need to show their hand until there is an opening up of domestic flying in NSW and Vic and they have some E190 capacity ready to fly (which looks like February 2021).
