Mate the Australian government is using our taxes as a piggy bank for their assorted mates, the UK government is bought and owned by Russian oligarchs and the US is one step away from a One-party state run by the Trump family all thanks to the misinformation brought to us all by Fox News and Facebook.

Our local elected LNP Feds are literally retweeting posts about Covid and 5G towers, taking cash from trusted institutions (universities, the abc, public education) and giving it to their supporters (Fox/news, the church, party donors, property developers).

As for the credit laws, it's as often as not the loopy property mogul wannabe "I just borrowed $5m to buy my 7th geared house on my salary as a part time reiki therapist, it's all the banks fault, how did I know I couldn't afford it" that wants these laws scrapped in the first place.

Yeah it's stupid to get rid of these laws but it'll probably give the banks a short term sugar hit and there's plenty that'll suffer out of this long term (including the banks from bad debts) not deserving of a lot of sympathy.

I'd say I'm reasonably empathetic as a general rule but if some numpty borrows $2m they can't afford by lying on their loan application or willingly goes guarantor for their unemployed son or daughter my sympathies only extend so far.
