The only question hanging over Macquarie is how long will this downturn last???
If it lasts for 5 -6 years then it will be very challenging for them. If it lasts for 2-3 years then they will be okay.
The longer the downturn the more Macquarie will get hurt.
I still believe that their shareprice will be sub$20.
Don't believe they will go bankrupt as they have a strong cash balance sheet. So they say.
Time will tell.
Only prob with the $900 mil is that it is an estimate only!! They have admitted that it could be worse, in other words could be less than $900 mil in 2 months time.
That is a worry.
Good luck to all. For the record I do not believe this company is like BNB. Its like comparing apples with oranges.
