Scanspeak,
to clarify,
there are naturally occurring fracture zones, referred to as productive fractures, they drill through these,
but what I'm talking about is enhanced fracture zones, ie those that have been hydraulically stimulated, which they do after drilling. So far they have only stimulated one horizon and drilled through it with a neighbouring well. What they have stated is, and this worries me, is that for their model to work, ie have enough flow for a commercial power station, they will need more than one enhanced fracture zone.
Their plan is to enhance a series of zones, one below the the other, they refer to this a multizone fracturing. This is possible. Then they plan to drill through these enhanced zones, which they refer to as multizone drilling, and this is where they are stretching current drilling technology to a new horizon (excuse the pun). This is what worries me, and when I see them succeed at this, I will then say they have all the boxes ticked. That will be the time to invest very confidently.
