Thats something that new investors like myself are only starting to understand.
Someone here mentioned that bond holders should actually be treated similar to shareholders, we want to keep them onside, so next time we need to borrow from them, they are willing to lend to us at a good rate.
Also by maintaining the dividend we become more appealing to super funds who need to deliver regular consistent returns to the retirees.
