    Yes, a lot for both the unfortunate home owners, as well as insurance companies to think about. We have the technology and know how to build homes which are far less susceptable to being engulfed by these fires including
    - full steel framed and clad homes
    - iron framed and clad fire shutters
    - no gutters
    - no timber
    - buried water tanks below the dwelling (concrete) or iron if above ground)
    - petrol or diesel fire pumps and steel fire sprinkler systems integrated into the roof structure and around the permiter of dwellings.

    Perhaps the govt could provide some grants for development and take up of this kind of technology. The insurers should provide reduced premiums as an incentive, it looks like they'll take a beating this week. . .
