When we'll hear
The ASX has said we'll have an announcement by Monday, or possibly before. Standard language.
MSB themselves have indicated that we will likely hear on Monday.

The trading halt
The trading halt has happened, as we knew it would. We got one in the US.

Whether the outcome is: rejection, approval, approval with conditions, a delay from the FDA, or something else, a company like MSB would use a trading halt before announcing. Idly announcing any one of these things just before market open would have been irresponsible. Investors need time to consider the implications and make decisions.

Trading halts are used for many things, from major game-changing things, through to benign things that barely even move the prices of other stocks.

The outcome
We still don't know this. There was much feverish posting prior to the ODAC outcome too. As with all things... we don't know what is or isn't in that announcement yet.

• Perhaps MSB is writing new announcement content for something they didn't expect.
• Perhaps they are getting things further organised to explain next steps off the back of an approval.
• Perhaps they are working through the implications of an approval with conditions they didn't expect.
• Perhaps the FDA has delayed a decision, and MSB is halting trading while they get further detail.
• Perhaps it's been rejected and for some reason they didn't have a standard response ready?
• Perhaps new info has come in from COVID/ARDS related to MSB, and a joint ANN is happening
• Perhaps something else...
• Perhaps.... Perhaps... Perhaps.

The upshot?
Little has changed from yesterday, except a trading halt we should all have been expecting has occured. We are still just patiently waiting for a result many have been waiting on for a while.

Also, this is a good opportunity to point out that this is one of many announcements we are waiting for. And while the general acceptance of stem cells by the FDA is a big picture feature of all this, it's not the be all and end all.
