there HAS to be changes..federally,not just state..
We have the ridiculous situation in the hills area where city housing developments have gone up in the middle of the bush surrounded by forests..!!!!??? How are they getting approvals.????The gutters are touching one another..dozens of houses crammed together..
People buying these houses arent generational land ownwers/farmers with a knowledge/understanding of their enviroment..they're city people looking for lifestyle change..or cheaper housing than in the city..
we had them back in the ash wednesday days also,just not as many..u know what saved their lives then..?? It happened on a Wednesday..they were at work in the city..one couple [doctors] actually built a pine log cabin to fulfill their dreams at he back of Basket Range...it didnt burn..it exploded like a stick of TNT..
Time to start listening to the CFS..or better still talk to the aboriginal elders whose understanding of fires and the bush would be bettered by no white man..
