    The relative merits of various technologies and the politics of introduction of a new energy technology was not really the point of my previous post. It was more in response to a poster who questioned the relevance of movements such as greenpeace as being a major player in the debate of the time, he suggested it was more the fear of terrorism, which I siggested was more a minor role at the time. Not so now of course.

    My illustration of the tactics used by greenpeace for another new technology, biotechology in general,seems to mirror to some extent what happened with nuclear power year ago resuilting in the large public displays based on fear created in many circumstances, out of bad or misleading information.

    More than any issue of nuclear power verses coal, biotechnology verses organic, my point is more to do with the power these self-appointed groups seem to have to direct the decision process.
