Covid Mortality Rate = 0.14%

According to none other than that most august of global health stewardship, the esteemed World Heath Organisation, up to 10% of the world's population has been infected with Covid [*].

So, some 750m people.

That's a factor of 21 times greater than the total number of Covid cases recorded globally.

(Which, incidentally, is consistent with findings of various sero-prevalence studies from disparate places around the world.)


So, 1.044 million deaths globally divided by 750m people who have been infected.

That's a mortality rate of ... wait for it.... 0.14%.

Not too dissimilar level as the mortality rate from the influenza virus.


And for that the political class elite have caused poverty to rise, and for tens of thousands of people to lose their livelihoods and thousands their life savings.
