Eventually the debt will need to be repaid. The austerity will be billed as essential because the gov saved us from the virus in 2020. Things like medicare will be stripped to the bone if not abolished all together. Then they will come after Super, private property tax increases, selling of any national infrastructure for pennies etc etc. It’s not the first time it’s happened, the systematic strip mining of wealth from a target population has been honed to an art. unfortunately we are now the big juicy target down under.
