I can't believe it is over a year since Rudd became PM.
Feels like several months.
So yes you are correct and the senate changes were last July.
Time flies when other things are in crisis.
So waiting is not an option and whether now or a little later a double D makes great political sense so long as you can convince the public that you aren't being political but doing them a favour, lol.
