If they can wrangle it, I reckon they could pick up Acadian's gold assets for a song. Problem is, and I discussed this with a gold company exec last night over a couple beers, other north american companies will probably be all over Acadian with respect to thier gold assets...so a bit of competition for ATV to deal with here.

The govt/financiers would prefer the 'new plant' approach since that means:

1. Higher investment amount
2. More jobs (if using nova scotia mill they would just use existing staff so no real jobs created on that front)

However I dont know much about the existing plant, and the terms that would be negotiated, so cant really comment on what my preferred option would be...will let ATV work that out for themselves through their feasibility studies.

I think ATV is at an important fork in the road right now.
