you are quite right....it is a different market in Qld to NSW. But AGL has also shown it is willing to pay for complimentary csm assets.
However looking to the medium to long term with ESG assets I am not convinced that we will be soley a domestic supplier.
Santos has hinted at the possibility of LNG via Newcastle for their Gunnedah basin assets given the right market conditions.
The Qld-Hunter Gas Pipeline is also still planned to be built even though BG pulled the plug once QGC was taken over.
Still plenty of development (and possibilities) to occur over the next 5 years with ESG - it's really only just starting to warm up.
Should be a fun & rewarding ride the next few years for investors.
