Gippsland announced Abu Dabbab as its new project on 3rd of October 2001 so it is longer than six years also a lot of the work had already been done. "Abu Dabbab was explored in great detail during the 1970s by EGSMA and GIREDMET Geological Research Institute (Moscow) and again by a joint EGSMA-Geominera Italiana geological expedition during the early 1990s. These most thorough exploration programs included detailed mapping, sampling, drilling, trenching and the construction of 4 adits totalling 736 metres in length. The studies included comprehensive metallurgical testwork, which was undertaken in Italy and Moscow. The Italian work concluded with the preparation of a Feasibility Study, which was completed to international standards in 1992."

The announcement also said "Gippsland brings to the incorporated joint venture its exploration, production, technical, operational and most importantly, its mining technology skills." All this years later and Gippsland is still strong in the same areas it was then. Gippsland is a bit like a child that is still precocious into its forties.

As for the data needed to persuade all these people involved it should be conclusive as Abu Dabbab is a fantastic mineral deposit and the world is crying out for a source of cheap "clean" tantalum (or at least it should be). For the German government and banks it should be a easy decision, either the tantalum comes from Gippsland "clean" and fairly cheap, Talison "clean" and expensive or smuggled from the Congo as "dirty" as you can get but cheap (in money terms at least).

Tired of reading articles about how many people are being killed, raped or being conscripted into private armies in the Congo. I know other minerals are being smuggled but the smuggling of tantalum is still fuelling a lot of the conflict there. I no longer have any patience for JT taking his time. If i thought it was the right time to get rid of JT i would be pushing for it as i regard the Abu Dabbab project more important than any one man.

As for me having valuable aspects i think you have more than me including unbreakable optimism. My own optimism is under a lot of strain at the moment. I may cheer up a bit when they get a new nomad as it is very annoying not being able to deal in the shares over here.

Hope we do not fall out Transmeta as i find your contributions to the Gip forums the most valuable of any poster but do not think i will agree with your opinion of Jack Telford.

    Robert

P.s keep trying to cheer us up though!
