Yes but then can the operating system and applications take full advantage of this.
The OS is expecting volatile memory so on boot will look to refresh this memory from NV storage (disk). Applications are expecting to get data from disk and would need to be rewritten.
In the first instance you would need to do some clever things such as RAM disk for NVM mounted on the memory bus. Alternately you could attach this NVM via the PCI bus (think hdd) and map it as virtual memory.
This means that we don't need to change software to get some benefits.
Full benefits will probably need a software and OS tweak.
