re: wbc & cba & bt substantial holders No company can buy a billion assets without a billion cash and how do you get the billion cash in the first place?

The old what came first, the chicken or the egg!

This debt thing has worn me out. You guys must all be employees because some of you have no idea how real business works. You expect to be paid every month on the dot but I guarantee you a companies debtors don't pay on time every month. Why is your salary paid every month on time - DEBT! Without it you would all be whinging every missed pay day.

Debt is how the world goes around.

Debt isn't always a bad thing. It is normally a requirement to go into debt to fund growth. The trick is to manage it. Most companies are managing their debt just fine but their sp is being hammered for a few that have not.

Yes I agree it would be great if companies could turn over billion dollar profits, pay shareholders 10% divies and be debt free but that just isn't reality.

Unfortunately at the moment many of us (not me) think that is reality. Oh well.

Do any of you own a house, how did you afford to buy it? Do any of you earn income from investment property?, how did you afford to buy it? Do any of you borrow to buy shares?

Debt, debt, debt. Nothing wrong with it if it can be managed.

Now AIO seem to be managing their debt ok, no reason so far to not believe this but you guys are flogging it anyway. I don't get it. And this goes for plenty more companies.

Buy it, sell it, short it if you want, whatever, but you are only following the current short term pattern, you are not doing it for any other reason. Japan - I don't think so, sp has been dropping for weeks just as much as today. But what does it matter. I don't hold AIO, I just get sick of the legends on this forum who think they can pick the sp of a stock, they can, but only after a pattern forms. It peeves me when people start telling me why it's dropping when even the ceo's/cfo's can't explain the reasons. Really you have no idea - really. Also not so hard to pick pattern - all stocks are down - it is not rocket science.

To me the current stock price does not make any sense any way you want to swing it.

    rant over.

    Good luck to you all.
