I agree that there is no harm in sending out such a notice but this is not normal business practice. In 30 years of investing and holding options in quite a few companies I have never received a notice of this nature 13 mos out from the expiry date. The moment I received it I quickly checked the expiry date on the options (just to be sure) and once confirmed I thought it very strange to send it out so early. I am not surprised that some holders think that there is some other motive driving such a move.
